Finding Balance

LET GO

Sometimes if we sit and take a moment to smell the roses we will discover less is in fact more.  You don't have to be responsible for every little thing that needs to happen.  Delegate or discard. Allow yourself to simply say "no" to and "let go" of anything non-essential or lacking positive value for your life.

EXPAND BEYOND

It's not hard to see how many caregivers find themselves isolated from friends and family under the responsibility of caring for others.  However, we can all find a little time in the day or even the week to set aside for ourselves.  You may not be able to take a trip to Aruba on a moments notice, but you sure can take a trip with your mind by reading a new book, watching a video,  or even phoning a friend for 30 minutes of re-connection to world outside of your home.

TAKE A BREATH

It will allow you to settle your energy and increase your mindfulness.  Try stepping outside your door or looking out an open window.  The cool grass beneath your bare feet will help you be in the present moment and experience your breath.  Feel the breeze through the window or listen to the sounds from outside. Bring awareness  into your body  in order to set or reset the pace.
